It’s not like McCarthy had to twist dem arms to get votes. They were already chomping at the bit to vote to extend the debt limit so forget what they said. We all knew McCarthy would cave on a number of issues and that is why the hardline GOP didn’t want him. To my way of thinking they weren’t hardline enough.
Immediately force a House vote on his speakership.
We are spending my sons and future generations into oblivion.
Dementia Joe’s speech at the AF Academy with be a yelling fest screaming at clouds and screaming that our greatest threat is white supremacy and white nationalism.
A reckoning is coming. A vast majority of us are not prepared.
We had a good run of 250 years. All civilizations including America rise, reach their peak (Post WWII) and the begin to fall.
We are presently Rome in the 5th century.
The barbarians are already over the walls with an open border invasion.
We are being sold bread and circuses as the USA has become a cultural gut rot society.
The Dims have the Legacy media to back them on any and all of their wild schemes in DC.
No GOP speaker will ever be effective in Congress because the media and academia and Hollywood have their thumb on the scales of justice. Thus, "the people" get faaccked everytime!
And the $1.5 Trillion added to the ceiling they were talking about is magically at least $4 Trillion. You can't make this s#@t up... but if you could, why would you?????
The others on here have covered the bases pretty well on McCarthy and the other feckless Republicans. And the fact that McConnell in the Senate praised the "compromise" should have people cringing.
What no one in the media or otherwise is talking about is: why is there a debt ceiling in the first place? The first one occurred in 1917. It basically was a lazy congressional maneuver. Prior to that, public loans were required to be debated individually and passed by Congress. In 1939 it began to explode. But then in 1946 it was actually lowered. In 1979 a Democrat, Dick Gephardt, managed to pass a bill that automatically raised the debt limit any time a budget was passed. That stayed in place until 1995, when it was repealed. Rather than continuing to bore you guys, the bottom line is that Congress, particularly the House of Representatives, is mostly in charge of money. All the other stuff branches out from there. And the fact is that Congress has said Faaack off America for over 100 years, by refusing to do their primary job. That we pay each of them over 100k a year. Bread and circuses, as a previous poster said. Or in more colloquial terms "oh look, a squirrel!"
Representative Mace from South Carolina put it pretty well - McCarthy got played by a man who can't put his own pants on... that takes talent, and I like her
Now I am hearing "we are just one half of one third and if you want anything you want done you have to give us the house and the senate and the white house" only I am old enough to remember those exact same words, only coming from Mitch McConnell back then but just as powerful cause we still have Obamacare and try as I might I can not recall anyone ever voting to make brain damaged McCain King of the "parliament".... but here we are and I am as skeptical as ever
And that very same Mitch McConnell did everything within his power to sabotage the Republican Senate chances in the 2022 election cycle. I was born in 1957 and I remember the same tired speeches for 50 years. "Oh, we only have the Presidency. " "Oh, we only have the Presidency and the Senate." Etc.
And remind me of what has happened every single time we have given them all 3 branches. Or remind me of how the establishment absorbed the Tea Party ideals long enough to gain power and then kick it to the curb.
Yes he did. Sabotaged republican chances - but (and maybe someone can explain this to me) retained his own personal power... That title "leader" has really gone to his head

Both parties are right about McCarthy sadly.

I’m confused. I thought the bill they were voting on would decrease spending, not raise the debt ceiling.
If passed by the senate, this bill suspends the debt ceiling for two years...right through the end of the Biden Administration's term.
I can't think of a single scenario where that's a good plan.
And the $1.5 Trillion added to the ceiling they were talking about is magically at least $4 Trillion. You can't make this s#@t up... but if you could, why would you?????
McCarthy is as worthless as tits on a boar hog

Please do a Mystery Science Theater 3000 of Joe’s commencement speech...
Just another step closer to the end as we know it. I doubt China and the NWO folks are upset.
No they're cheering as there's video of China bumping an American jet recently...
They sold us lock, stock and barrel...see you in the work camp, hopefully one of you will be in a pod near me...
If we aren't dead.
