Communication Breakdown

A short tale of an involuntary half a day off...

Substack posted a few days ago that they'd be shutting down for ‘routine maintenance' at two points this weekend. Yesterday at 5:00 and today at 1:00.

Only they didn't say how long it was going to be. 😆

The one yesterday passed through without me even noticing it, so it must’ve been fairly short. The one today lasted like six hours and I was locked out of the site the whole time. 🙄

In all fairness, they may have sent some sort of notification or something and I just didn't read it. I typically don't read their emails or announcements. It's nothing personal. It's just my highly developed instinct for laying relatively low in regards to interacting with the platform folks.

Anyway…

I don't even know if it affected you as readers or if it was just content creators, so let me know in the comments if you got locked out too. Don't know where we're going the rest of the night. I seriously used this opportunity to take a six-hour mental health retreat from the cyberverse today, and I don't know if I want to go back in yet. 🤪
