How far back do you think achieving "Natural Herd Immunity" has been set in America, after two years of altering and tampering with the "experiment" through ineffective vaccines, mask misguidance, lockdowns, catastrophically poor leadership and 'politics before public good’ decision making?
I say a lot. A whole faaaacking lot.
Go!
If they’d just let this run it’s course and didn’t create these variants with an ineffective shot, this would be over by now. The same people would have died. They should have emphasized treatment more than the ineffective vaccine. There’s no vaccine for HIV but there are very effective lifesaving treatments. BTW, the average age of Covid death was 80 years old with at least four comorbidities.
My brother, who is obese and unhealthy, is vaccinated and boosted and he’s in Edward hospital in Naperville right now with Covid related pneumonia. He hasn’t been on a ventilator and seems to be doing better. I’m hoping he makes better lifestyle choices after this wake-up call. Like a potato is not a vegetable.
I think we have absolutely prolonged this pandemic with some of the “mitigation” measures that were used. It is normal for a new virus or strain to sweep through a population with no immunity, that’s just a painful part of life.
Getting through that misery early on and building natural immunity would have been more effective. I am all for good hygiene, hand washing, stay home if you’re sick, etc. Those are common sense things. The lockdowns very early on were obviously not effective, so why were they pushed so hard. Keeping kids out of school/daycare weakened their immune systems against typical childhood illnesses. Not to mention the mental strain and educational losses.
Masks, if used in a highly regimented manner, 100% of the time might have had some benefit, but perfect results in a laboratory do not translate to the same results in real life. Masks are worn too long and saturated, touched constantly, and not worn properly, probably causing more harm than good.
Had we mostly carried on with life as normal, the pandemic could have been over by now, with far less disastrous results on society.
Not trying to be callous—I feel bad for everyone who has suffered or passed away from covid and its effects. But the damage we are still uncovering in the upcoming twenty years may be far worse—drug use, drinking, suicides, mental health challenges—those are all up among younger adults. Not to mention the abrupt slide towards Socialism.
