I am hoping that the Republicans understand how important it is that we have a Speaker immediately. Even if they reinstate McCarthy, it needs to be done now! The GOP needs to quit being so stupid and show this country how things need to be done. NOW!!
Yesterday I thought they were having a vote today to elect the new speaker... this morning they announced there would be a "secret ballot". These morons didn't spend the last week negotiating who the best choice might be and come into work today ready to declare the party's nominee and have a ceremonial vote before (s)he took over..... Yeah - the GOP Frocked this up too...
Yeah.... after a week when they had plenty of time to poll the audience and/or build a consensus... they chose to continue to look like a party that can't govern.... and I'm not surprised.... disappointed, but not surprised
Here is the other thing.... and I am off on a tangent here - but somebody here is smarter than I am so might could help me out: Why did the House choose to take a week off from the people's business to celebrate a holiday that most of the Left/Media/Fake News outlets want to eliminate instead of locking themselves in a room and deciding who the next Speaker would be before Joe gives everything to Ukraine and Israel, Gaza, Lebanon and Syria are all left in smoldering ruin with nothing?
I'm genuinely questioning whether we'll have a government we recognize by the end of the month.
You recognize it now? 🤪

Hoping , yes I am with you - expecting? Not so much

They aren’t bringing it to the floor unless there are 217. Right now it looks like Scalise is the nominee.
