I'm Feeling A Little Bit Tweety Today
Theory Strategy & Decisions on the birdie platform...
Twitter's been a little bit of a "fly in the ointment" for me going forward the past few weeks, since even before the transition from screwslinger to civilian.
@Elon has introduced a lot of things I'm unhappy about, like this Blue Check caste system, where you can act like you're participating on Twitter, but without the $8 per month Blue Check your tweets get no distribution and your comments show up in the feed after all the Blue Check's comments. Or not being able to embed my Substack content on Twitter due to a Big Tech oligarch spat. At some point in the next few weeks, I'm going to decide whether or not to do the "Blue Check" thing. A few more subscribers would help me out tremendously with this decision. 😁
But ultimately it seems like the right "business decision" for the mission of getting this product sold. We'll see.
The one thing he did get right (at least for now 🙄) is the newsfeed. They have it divided into two sections, "For You" and "Following".
"Following" is self-explanatory. It's timely tweets from accounts you follow, which for me is a fairly thin list of news sources and public figures that I either want to refer to, or want to see what they're up to.
Apparently "For You" monitors the pages you click on and gives you tweets from them and others like them, so for me it ends up being all the unhinged left psychos like the Krassenstein Bros./Jojo from Jersey/Stephen King/Bette Midler/etc.
So it's divided into "Following" for straight news & info, and "For You", which they should really just call the freak show option. 😆
So I can easily dip into either news or insanity, by targeted choice, to take what I need from Twitter.
Well done on that one, Elon.

I follow you on Twitter but I have to go on the platform and then scroll through to find your tweets. I get phone notifications from other sites I follow so it would be nice to get yours.
If you are an intelligent person who surveys the news events from various sources you have no need to enter the empty void of twitter. I would question the reasson for even shouting into the universal wasteland filled with twit bots and fanatic blathers. I NEVER go to twitter as I find it a useless and disfunctional playground for egotists. Don't waste your time or money on this platform. Keep up your blogging and avoid the braindead by giving them the time of day.
