Good morning! As per usual the media is manufacturing the narrative around the debt ceiling, that for whatever reason the republicans are failing to answer vigorously with the counter narrative.

The House already raised the debt ceiling and as far as I can tell democrats have failed to put forward anything, while painting the republican passed bill, as draconian and mean.

Holding the line at 2022 spending levels is still a HUGE increase, because 2022 FY still has gobs of “emergency” money in it. They spent like drunken sailors on shore leave and now we’re over spending the GDP by .30 to the dollar. Our revenues were the highest in history and they STILL overspent nearly 30%! Unspent Covid money needs to go back. Covid is over.

Not even one democrat in the House voted to raise the debt ceiling.

American households have had to cut their own budgets and now the democrats want more of our money.

If there’s a default, it’s not on republicans. They passed it already. It’s just sitting in Chuckie’s circular file. It’s up to the Senate to work with the House. I have no idea why they need to involve the Resident.

Republicans aren't vigorously defending bc there's no media outlet (mainstream) that will objectively allow their message to be heard loud and clear. No one really pays attention (the ones that need to hear the message) to Newsmax or CSPAN....also, far to many rinos who along w the teflon dems want our country to default for various reasons. They don't give a fig as they have their pockets (and everything else) full of money. The SS bs not being paid is just that as it is a separate fund. However, our fed gvt did/does what the former gov of NJ did (in NJ it was using the PERS funds) - borrowing money from SS to fund their bs projects or investments & then lost big time. My family will be screwed wo my husband's SSD check & so many other people. The teflon dems keep saying SS & Medicare to scare people bc they don't know they are separate funds and to distract from their f-ing up our $$$. If I have to cut back and cut my income & I have, due to many factors over the last 2 years we're down over $1200/mo...so at this point idc if it is Trump, Desantis or Vivek or my cat, I just want a fiscally responsible (or as close to it) gvt who follows The Constitution and Bill of Rights. I can dream, right? Have a great Friday!

Lisa and Theresa, you're both so right. I can't convince my friend that he will get his SS Check. Biden, although he has nothing of substance to contribute, is on a long holiday weekend 😡. I remember when Trump sat at the WH over Christmas while that pig Pelosi partied in Puerto Rico. We are in a world of trouble 😖
