Can’t argue anything you said. Trump brought this on with his choice of candidates. I hope to hell Master’s numbers go up along with Kari Lake’s. I think Walker will take my state of GA in a runoff, but only if Trump doesn’t foolishly announce a 2024 run next week. Let us get through the runoff without his impact on things, especially in light of his recent attacks on Ron. We don’t need any reasons for angry Rs to stay home like they did last time, giving us Warnock in the first place.

Unfortunately, Trump has not shown good political sense lately. I believe he will announce and it could well mess us out of getting at least 50/50 in the Senate.

Trump going full out crazy couldn’t have come at a worse time. He’s all about himself and he more than likely and single handily blew any chance of controlling the Senate. I voted for him but I can’t think of any scenario where that would happen again.

Trump is starting to sound like a fanatic and I don't trust any of those because they refuse to do anything that goes against their absolute belief in being the only brain at the table.

I will still vote for him if he were the nominee, but just as in ‘16 he’s not starting out as my top pick.

I think the biggest problem with Trump was he energizes the democrat base to eleven on a scale of 1-10. TDS as irrational as it is, is real and we have to acknowledge what a handicap that is. He didn’t deserve any of it, but it is what it is and here we are.

As to the quality of the candidates, you can’t tell me Oz is a worse candidate than Fetterman. The candidate for Governor(also Trump) dragged on him too, but again how are the republicans labeled as the extremists when the left is so extreme? Media.

Coming into a race especially like Walker, who faced an incumbent, is no easy feat, and the name recognition is helpful and Walker is a household name. His opponent is a slick talking preacher whose very occupation is speaking eloquently in ways that elicit emotional responses. Just ask his former wife.

My problem with shooting inside the tent is it’s hard to excuse outside of the primary cage matches.

Right now he needs to show leadership and he’s not.

I’m just glad you’ve finally come to your senses. I love most of what you say and I’ve adopted SO MANY of your sgoinneil phrases! The sad reality is TDS is real, and that alone doesn’t make him electable or a good choice at this point. IF he can put himself aside (I’m having a real hard time with that level of faith), then America can still turn the corner. If not, can’t even contemplate.

Not sure where the "come to your senses" part is coming from. I've never been a Trump "fan boy" or cheerleader. When he got it right I said so, and when I think he got it wrong I've said that too. He predominantly got it right, so my commentary would skew that way I suppose. But there hasn't been any cultish "blind faith" about him from me. I don't do blind faith.

Ah, my mistake and sincere apologies!! Somehow I had the idea that you were wanting him to run in 2024, and I just cannot see that that would be beneficial to anyone in the country besides himself.

Trump is done for most thinking conservatives. If he and his "handlers"...if he even has any...cannot keep from throwing rocks like toddlers at a winning Republican we do not need them. We will do better without him.

I’m not going to pick a team (DeSantis or Trump). Both guys are patriots with an America First agenda. The Republican Party is lucky to have two strong, patriotic leaders, much unlike the Dems and their Socialism First agenda.

You cannot say Trump is American first anymore. We desperately need unity and the BEST candidates to win. I believe Trump is Trump first lately. He is hellbent on getting a second term, and will not allow anyone to stand in his way. DeSantos is eminently more electable, he will bring in the center and the democrats who aren't so progressive. Trump cannot do that.

If Trump announces that he’s running, it will split the Republican Party in two. My feelings if I took a poll based on my Facebook feed is that Republican voters are turning on Trump, but unfortunately there are a bunch of diehards will continue to support him no matter how much damage he is doing. If he really cares about America like he says he does, then he will step aside, but I’m not holding my breath as it’s become painfully obvious that he is first a narcissist.

You just described the "unhinged right" up in the middle there. 😉

The last thing we need is a split in the party given the battle against the democrats is uphill and not to mention that we always shoot ourselves in the foot. I was a diehard Trump supporter and tuning into all the rallies. I was bothered by all the election denial along with his war with the republicans that spited him. He lost me completely with the comment about DeSantis. Trump had great policies but it’s time to step aside and let another take the helm. TDS is too strong and rebranding is necessary. Maybe parroting and rebranding Regan’s message to this time.

With the exception of some that want the best for America, most politicians in Congress are swampy power-hungry narcissists.

Trump is not a politician. He’s a savvy businessman and this country needs a businessman to clean house at the federal level.

Disband the FBI, cut funding to the IRS, CIA, DOJ and every other dept. in the federal govt.

And FIRE the top brass at each.

Is there anyone other candidate you can think of that would actually have the balls to do this?

And yes, I wish Trump would keep his mouth shut but I’ll take him over China Joe and I’m almost certain he is going to run again.

Mean tweets or cheap gas?

Your take is spot on G.

You know I loved Trump and he was the right person at the right time. I also really like DeSantis and think he may be the right person for this time. I don't get Trump's reasoning for attacking DeS the way he is and I hate that he's doing it. My problem is....it makes me uneasy when EVERYONE, en masse, changes their mind. It's almost as if some entity is manipulating all of us. Successfully. Like those flocks of birds that all fly one direction then suddenly switch direction. And then I hear about Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell maybe having their grimy paws in it. And I don't know what to believe and start thinking all kinds of things are possible. Maybe the Dems/Deep State helped DeSantis be great because he's really their puppet, to take down Trump once and for all. Or maybe the talk about Ryan and McConnell is BS to make us question DeSantis. In the long run I'm an 'actions speak louder than words' person, so as much as I hate what Trump says, he's been mostly right all along. It's all so confusing, because I want DeSantis to be our future.

I'm going to say the same thing I've said a few times before: I am an America First person and I have been even before it got that name. I do not follow the personalities, I follow the movement. And as much as I dislike dog piling on, President Trump no longer represents the movement. I would likely vote against him in a primary.

It is inconceivable to me that, while everyone was playing "look, a squirrel!" with the Oz/Fetterman race here in PA, Trump endorsed (and then did not support financially) the Republican candidate for Governor. As a result we got the former AG Josh Shapiro. Shapiro is as far left as you can get. In 2020 he blatantly broke PA election laws and is partly responsible for the jackassery of anything goes voting. Fetterman is a disaster, but he is just 1 of 100 Senators and will be f'ing up the country. Shapiro is now the top politician in my state, he's pro anytime anywhere abortion, he's anti gun, he supports criminal justice reform, and he's big on the mail in voting deal. He's also anti fossil fuel. He has 4 years to destroy the state and with a Supreme Court here that is 7-2 Democrat he'll be able to do it. That was Wolf's claim to fame during the "pandemic". He would veto anything the Republicans put out and any time that a group would sue on constitutional grounds the Supreme Court tossed it.

On target!

Obviously to anyone paying attention these last 6 years ...the 4 D chess is just psy ops bs!! Same as the "hold the line" & the hopes pinned on 1/6 & let us not forget "THE KRAKEN"......

With Desantis, those who had the cult like love of Trump, the other type of TDS, his petty rhetoric is showing that he suffers from TES (Trump Ego Syndrome) & his true colors. Hopefully people will wake up. Hopefully people will have the balls to call him out on is f ups.

Thankful for the 4 years of not getting into a new war & great economy....but not much else.

God, please intervene

The republicans may not be the answer to this country’s problems but the democrats are the cause of almost all of this country’s

problems!

Trump may not be the answer to all of our problems but he loves this country and our economy was doing great, border was under control, almost no inflation, cheap gas, etc...

The biggest mistake he made was he had traitors all around him but he’s not a politician, and he won’t make that mistake again!

He’s our only hope.

Leave DeSantis out of the conversation.

For now.
