“Send Me Somewhere" pre-planning last night concluded with a strong push for a trip to the City of Yonkers, NY tomorrow, which I'm good with and would've done on my own eventually anyway.
Yonkers is a fairly historic Hudson River city bordering the Bronx to it's south. Had a massive revitalization to it's waterfront maybe 20 years ago. One block inland is half busy shopping district, and half crackheads & hookers & what-not. And up a long hill from shopping, crackheads and hookers is a building I lived in from age 1-4, and actually have pretty vivid memories of the neighborhood. This could be good.
However, just to be fair and have other options to consider, if you have an idea for somewhere else and a reason why it'd be a cool place to go instead of Yonkers, drop it in the comments and maybe I'll flip to yours.
Mary Gunny's idea last night sounded pretty cool until the bit about spiders as big as tennis balls and huge jumping attack crickets. And like I said, I'm doing Yonkers anyway, and it's probably three different trips to be honest.
Plan right now is City of Yonkers.
The train map's right down below.
Go pick an alternative and foil the plan. 😁
I'm voting for Spuyten Duyvil just because I want to hear you say that!
I look forward to photos.
