PCS Family!!
Welcome to PCS Nation on Substack!! π
One hundred percent of you are coming here from the PCS Facebook platform at this point, where we've been pumping out content since 2017, but under the oppressive thumb of Big-Tech social media.
The Substack platform is going to be a different kind of PCS Nation. Not in the sense of it's 'spirit'. I'm still the same "Your Pal Glen" you got every day on Facebook. Only now, the things we all say aren't going to have to pass through Menlo Park for judgement and approval.
And no one from the outside will decide what you're allowed to see here, or who even gets to see it, based upon a vague, fluid set of "Community Standards" that don't actually exist in much of a tangible form, and covert & un-questionable enforcement of their 'policies' thatβs suspiciously motivated at best.
Substack has rules, but they are fair, professional and reasonable, and they make sense.
It's pretty facking liberating! π
The other obvious difference here is that it's going to be primarily a "paid subscription" format, where you pay a small monthly fee to get exclusive new content, sent directly to your email, as well as archived on the platform for you to click through at your leisure.
And technically, it also makes me a professional writer. π
Let's talk about all that for a minute.
First of all, I'm not looking to get rich off this, although I'll take that if it happens. The subscription fee is fair for what you'll get. Ultimately you'll decide if it's worth it or not, and you can quit any time if it sucks...just like the free stuff.
I've been putting out free content under the PCS βbrandβ on one platform or another since 2011. I'm good at it, I know what works and what doesn't, and if you've been on the FB platform with us for any amount of time, you know what you're going to get from me.
At this stage of the game, I feel comfortable enough with my "product" to ask to be compensated for it, to whatever extent that ends up being...which again, you will decide.
The subscription fee for PCS Nation on Substack is $6 per month.
That's roughly .21 cents per day.
Look back on your previous PCS Nation experience and ask yourself, "Has this guy been worth .21 cents a day to me?", and proceed based upon that.
This is how it looks from my end of the deal...
If I get 150-200 paid monthly subscribers, that would just about cover the rent on my apartment.
If I get 1000 paid monthly subscribers, that would afford me the option to get out of the hardware business and focus solely on writing, should I choose to.
And if a grand total of one person signs up for all of this, that gets me about two cups of coffee a month, and the ability to freely say what's on my mind, go a LOT deeper than I'm able to now, and not struggle under the scrutiny of big tech oligarchs with questionable agendas, for that one person.
I will happily take any of the above. π
There will absolutely be "free" content and some PCS-Facebook crossover content available without the paid subscription. So please, if you are hesitant about jumping into a paid subscription, sign up for the free stuff and you can always bump up to the full content later if you like.
If you went to a restaurant this weekend, you likely tipped the wait staff more than six bucks for serving you. It seems a fair amount to pay to try out a new product for 30 days, from a source you already know, to find out if you like it and want to keep it.
Lastly, I want to assure you that this new endeavor will not affect the PCS Nation Facebook site in any way.
We have nearly 30,000 followers on Facebook, and it was every one of you there that supported me over the years and enabled me to get to here, and my gratitude for that won't allow me to walk away from it, despite the way we're treated there. Linda and I will continue running PCS on Facebook just as we have been, for as long as they let us.
So, if you're tired of a Facebook paradigm that allows you to see only what they deem fit for you.
If you've EEEEver languished in the Facebook gulag for 30 days for saying what's on your mind on that platform.
If you just want to say a big "FAAACK YOU!" to Big Tech oligarchs who'd try to mold your thoughts, and then punish you for non-compliance...then come and join us on this new PCS adventure.
PCS Nation on Substack is now officially open for business!
Uncensored,Β Unrestrained,Β and Untethered from Big Tech social media suppression!
Clear the aisles... π
I do not make it a habit to subscribe to these kinds of sites. I think Rush Limbaugh was the only one. However subscribing to PCS Nation is a must. Glenβs sense of humor and ability to focus in and say what we are thinking is a joy. He puts a lot of work into what he writes, is entertaining and otherwise brightens up a dull or bad day. I see no problem with Glen being compensated for what he does for us. I am sure there are many of us in Florida who are cheering you on to success.
Hey Glen, Grand Rapids here! Excited about this new format.
