This is Fender's “70th Anniversary of the Stratocaster” tribute video of the most Stratocastery song of all time, Voodoo Child.
Stellar cast of iconic and current Strat-pilots, coolest being Jimmy Vaughn (white jacket & sunglasses), brother of Stevie Ray Vaughn who arguably did the best version of this song ever.
SRV was the MASTER. I had the great pleasure of meeting him after his gig at Toad's Place in New Haven. Lovely man. Gone way too soon.
Way too soon....
My favorite "1st time reaction video" of all time is of him doing a 'sound check'.... But just imagine if he had time to "develop his playing skills"
Woooooooohooooooo!!!!!!!
I get the DEI situation that Fender is restrained by BUT Kenny Wayne Shepard must have been too costly or he was on tour for the taping.
Just sayin' IMHO.
Agreed. I met KWS at Toad's, too. Sweet kid, protoge of SRV. His Deja Voodoo is one of my faves!
