I like her a lot. I think it's a good fit. Obviously she would have more objective political value to a campaign if she was black and/or gay, but she's not, so you work around that.
I also appreciate the subtle distinction between her “self-pitching” to show interest in the slot, as contrasted with Nikki Haley “self-pimping" to try and leverage the job by leaving the primary race in a “brokered deal” at some point.
Trump & Noem appearing together at a rally in SD tomorrow night gets a little more intriguing from this.
I can't think of anything in particular that is off-putting about it.
