Love the continuing saga. You need a voice-over saying "tune in next time for the continuing saaagaaa of the Chinese spy dwarf. Will Pete find his way? Will Joey find his brain?"
Is there anyone else in the PCS family that can remember the Perils of Pauline type short features they used to show before the main feature at the movies?
It actually started in radio when they had soap operas and other shows. Before TV became widespread in the heartland during the 50s. When I was a kid we lived on an airbase overseas and the movies had the star spangled banner followed by a short, then a cartoon, then the movie. 😃 I'm old!
Good times! I am not that much younger. I remember getting our first tv, a black and white beastly heavy tube, given to us by a nice neighbor when they upgraded to color. I always appreciated our neighbor Norm (the Dad) because even though we weren’t his kids he provided male guidance and reenforcement for my single Mom because Dad ran away from home to become a hippy. Lol
That's interesting! I'll give a short clue about my first memory of TV: my family and all our other relatives gathered in my grandparents living room to watch JFK's funeral because they were the only ones who had a TV! 2 years later my dad was transferred to Japan, and there was no American TV channels on the airbase.
I was born in a Catholic hospital four days before Kennedy was shot. Women used to spend five days in the hospital after giving birth. Mom said all the nuns were face down wailing on the hall floor. My baby homecoming photos are hilarious because all the adults were in a state of shock, and it shows, but then there was my Mom beaming joy.
A human disaster for sure.

A little before my personal recollection, but I know of them!

As she should have been! Great story.
