I know I mentioned this b4 but my husband and I had to go through a training and background check to volunteer at our daughter's school. We are Catholic and she attended Catholic school. It was long ago but it was I think more than 1 night of training and videos. My husband and I were astonished and disgusted at the same time. Obviously we were disgusted by the predators & our belief of there's no rehabilitation or cure was confirmed. We were astonished in a sense bc I grew up in the 70s and 80s being born in 1969, my husband in the 60s and 70s as he was born in 1956. We had such a trust of people and this presentation was eye opening. Honestly, everyone should have access to it. And, no, to those who hate the Catholic faith, the predators weren't all priests or religious.
I remember back in the mid 80s though my cousins and their cousin and a friend were out all night. There's a whole back story and stuff in between but we were all under 16 and out after 2am. I remember my Mom saying when they were talking to the cops, she said if we were hitchhiking she hoped a lady picked us up to give us a ride wherever we were going - thinking that they'd be motherly to us & the cops told her then that the woman were sometimes worse than men!
In the training we got to see this...
My Dad used to tell our daughter, that if anyone did anything to her that he'd take care of them bc he was an old man and he lived his life and jail would be ok.
When a boy was punching our daughter every day in the stomach & the principal told me and my husband "that's how boys play" my husband told him that if it happens again his 30 minute work commute would take 3 and he will see how boys play.
Sadly these predators are running the world. God help us.
I was born in 64 and went to Catholic school 1-12. Great academic education. Like all Catholic schools we were attached to a church with several priests and a convent. Some of the nuns were nice and some not so much. Some of the boys I went to school with were altar boys. There was never any hint of anything inappropriate but back then people weren't as aware or looking for it. Everyone trusted the priests.. We did have one priest for a few years that had a drinking problem and was in an accident. He was gone not long after...shuffled to another church. When all the pedo priests got named I looked and he was one of them. That got me to remembering some things and I do think he may have molested at least 2 of the altar boys I knew. We had plenty of volunteers but none received any type of training as you described.
No, the training wasn't around when I was younger. My husband and I both attended Catholic school. My family was blessed to know several devout priests. Just like there are people who shouldn't be teachers or nurses etc., in the religious life especially there were ladies who should've never been nuns and that was even b4 the infiltration...the dedicated religious life is a beautiful yet hard life and there should be much more discernment than there is..imo

“Sexuality education”? That doesn’t sound like sex education, it sounds like pushing binary/non-binary, trans, all the alphabet soup stuff and not just old fashioned sex Ed. And he is a creepy looking dude.

It's a sorry thing that we got rid of Stocks for people who went astray. There must have been nothing more satisfying than to be free to hurl whatever you chose at some creep pinned in a hunk of wood by his head and arms. Now that is what I would call an effecient method of rehabilitation.
I would say he's not always in the over protected environment of the school. The above mentioned father has a better chance of having his one on one discussion in a more private setting.
Sex is a basic human drive for sure. Little kids do enjoy getting to know their bits, and that’s about all the education they need at those ages. Yes, that’s supposed to feel good, but that is for personal alone time, not the living room. Class dismissed.
