The normal we boomers remember from our childhood was the result of a perfect storm of political, economic and social events prior to and just following our births that will never be replicated again. We can only strive to make this new world situation as normal as we can with reference to the precious memories we had of those halcyon days. Our new normal is being on the defensive now.
