I have questions, especially if anyone has worked with the 911 system. When a call is made to 911, doesn't it go to the agency that is geographically closest? So it has to be done by someone local. Or are the calls made to the police non-emergency number for wherever the chosen swattee lives?
I think they can track exactly which cell tower/towers the call goes through, so they have a general radius of where it's coming from. Even if you don't make a call, they can see which towers your phone 'pinged' as it got near to them. But maybe not if location tracking is disabled on the phone, which regular people like us wouldn't think of but FBI experts would.
If you was near the capitol on Jan 6th and used a cell phone - the FBI has already knocked on your door, copied every post you ever made on social media, have a ton of surveillance video on file.... - but you swatted MTG, not so much... it's hard to investigate.... it's kind of like vandalizing a crisis pregnancy center.... there's just NO WAY to find out who is responsible
They were able to identify anyone in the Capitol area on Jan 6th whether they were involved or not. We're talking about thousands of phones traced to that location. That's how some people got arrested. You'd think they could figure this out but since they won't have a MAGA Republicn to prosecute they're just not trying.

And doesn't the caller's location get transmitted to the 911 system? I know that was a big concern when people started getting rid of their landlines.

Cell towers only leave a footprint if you are wearing a MAGA hat - one of those "weird how they did that" facts you only get from FAKE news
Maybe the FBI is paying people to make those calls.
Maybe nobody is making those calls and the SWAT teams just show up
