Absolutely! So should Michigan and New York. Why, why, why would the voters put those two women back in office? Especially Whitmer after what she did to that state during the pandemic? But Pennsylvania? My god!! And I am sure none of you good people on this site voted that way.
Being a conservative in Pennsylvania was literal torture to my soul.
I was happy to move to Texas in 2001.
My big takeaway for the night was Trump is too damaged and DeSantis is the leader.
DeSantis won four years ago by a razor thin margin. Florida knows they dodged a bullet by Guillem losing, especially after his hazy drugged gay orgy thing happened so soon afterwards. Then Covid.
DeSantis won handily in 62 out of 67 districts. Including Miami Dade which was blue +20 in the last election.
Republican Governors who handled Covid, by allowing citizens to make their own choices were rewarded greatly by the governed. In Kemp’s case I was hugely pissed at Trump for criticizing Kemp for opening Georgia too soon. I don’t think Trump handled Covid too well by supporting any lockdown of any kind.
I think Trump’s served his purpose and he’s getting old anyway. DeSantis young, exciting and he handles the detractors much better. I would greatly prefer to see DeSantis at the top of the ticket. I don’t think Trump should even run. If he really does care about this country he would back DeSantis and stay the fuck out of it.
I agree, especially what you said about Trump/DeSantis. In 2016 Trump was like ripping off a band-aid, we had to do it quick like that, now is the time to be methodical.
How is living in Texas? And you're right about Trump and DeSantis. I live in the baby killing state of Michigan, in a red rural section and my husband wants to move to Texas but I say go north.
I have really appreciated it. The roads built since I moved here are eye popping.
Coming from PA I really love the roads. They are fifty ways to get from point A to point B.
There are a lot of Michigan transplants here and I gravitate towards them because the values of western PA and the values of many people from Michigan are shared. Down to earth is a trait I miss most. All this backstabbing fake friendly you find down here, well I just can’t with them. 😂
I love not having a State income tax. The tax policy here has been very helpful. I moved my Mom to Texas to care for her in her decline from an oddball hideous neurological disease. We had to redo all her documents from advance directives and power of attorney because my aunt did that in PA, but it was no longer valid. There’s no inheritance tax in Texas for amounts under 2 million.
I did not know how drastically important it was especially for my brother who needs every dime he gets. So all in all, it’s different. Better in some ways, worse in others, but no question I feel like I get more favorable monetary policies than I did in PA and it’s the difference in my life from clinging to middle class and solidly middle class. I like financial comfort and freedom over all other issues.
Not nearly the same and there are always repairs, improvements and expansions.
I seriously love these roads. Drainage can sometimes be an issue when we get heavy rainfall. Gotta be mindful of hydroplaning but sometimes it’s just the far right lane and there are at least two other lanes, and they drain pretty quickly once the rain stops. There are three lanes each direction to almost every road. Anyone who complains about Texas roads need to realize how spoiled they are! Lol
Absolutely! It makes me sick that we in PA have gone from bad to worse with Shapiro and Igorman. What in the Sam Hill is wrong with those people who chose those two morons over Mastriano and Oz? Even though I do not like Oz, we needed him in the Senate. God help us, please!
I wonder how much things would have changed if the debate had been in late September or early October (like Oz wanted) before the mail-in ballots went out? Of course counties contacting people, too stupid to fill out mail-in ballots correctly, didn't help either.
I live in PA and I am ashamed of this state. But the plan still is his wife to take the seat when he backs out for health issues. Biden didn't gaffe ..he told the truth by accident.
Ron Johnson kept his Senate seat, and we are sending a Republican (Van Orden) to the House in Washington from district 3 for the first time in over 20 years. But....we still have a D Governor and Attorney General. Granted, Michels wasn't the best R candidate to run against Evers, and the AG race was 100% decided by the people who love them some abortion.
Here in socialist MN it’s the same old story. Twin Cities(which has a huge blue voting Somali population) Duluth and other major metros are dyed-in-the-wool, die hard democrats that vote blue no matter how bad the candidate. Our guv, No-Balz-Walz follows the Newsom playbook.
My Pal, raised in PA claims Oz was seen as a carpetbagger by his family and friends. But electing Lurch for spite...come on Man! His liberal wife that let him sorta run from his basement, no joke Jack!

My husband and I sure as hell did not vote for Fetterman....or any other Democrat.

No potholes?

Connecticut too. I'm so pissed. But mostly disappointed that I live in a state that has a majority of idiots who apparently love living on the dole.

So, good news bad news from Wisconsin.

I am in complete disbelief. Shaking my head at this utter ignorance. WTH Pa?!!!

If it wasn’t for family I’d be long gone.
As I told my siblings who still live in PA, “GET THE HELL OUT OF PA!”
My state (PA) is full of a bunch of freaking idiots.
Everybody has got to remember the voting machines. No one did anything about them so it was business as usual, the cheat was in.
All the smart people with the ability moved outta here, PA, and went to FL. Same with NY and MI.
Electing vegetables. Just weird.
I’m embarrassed for them.
