Speaking of that time period - have you ever read “A Pillar of Iron” by Taylor Caldwell? Find it and read it. Unfortunately it’s a picture of present day America. Taylor Caldwell write historical fiction, brilliantly, and this one is about Marcus T. Cicero. All her books are excellent. (She even gives a warning to America in the beginning of one of her books. Scary)

I would say that most people who have a great deal of interest in history can see quite clearly what is happening to our nation and the world in general. If only we could stop the push that is against us but I am afraid we passed that tipping point while we were engaged in enjoying ourselves while the left was slowly and constantly moving on in their march. We did this to ourselves. Now do we have enough enlightened people willing to fight this? I seriously doubt it, our youth has been despoiled by our media/education industry - where do we turn? I believe our only hope lies with those communities within our borders that are still conservative at heart - the hispanics, orthodox jews, religious blacks and religious muslims not attached to fanatical jihad. Our own conservatives have grown soft except for those deep in the middle of our heartland.
