Aaaaaand the GOP calls an early lid today, packing it in after only two failed votes…this last one being virtually identical to the first four fails, with all 212 democrats voting for the democrat candidate, McCarthy a thousand miles from seeing the 218 vote threshold, and the GOP’s “B” candidate being nothing but a landing pad for the same 20 Never-Kevin voters as the first four tries.
Two days into the 118th United States congress, and it’s done literally nothing. They probably haven’t even handed out the congressional restroom keys yet.
And just five more working days until their first 10-day recess!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
10 Day Recess??? WTF??? They just had Christmas and NY (that I had no extra time off for btw). That should be the 1st or 2nd thing that gets cancelled.
I will say this...at least something out of the ordinary business as usual is happening. We could have had a ball-less bunch of rinos just shuffle that good old boy McCarthy into pelosi's still warm seat and continue on as if nothing really changed. I hope this goes on as long as it takes to let the rinos know that they are fooling no one any longer. Expediency leads to unnecessary compromise which leads to lackluster legislation which only serves to provide pork from the pockets of hardworking taxpayers. Better to have no congress sworn in than one that continues to put us deeper in debt.
And while all everything else is going on, Matt Gaetz took time away from working the problem to compose a formal letter to the Architect of the House, complaining that someone was "squatting" in the speakers office.
What cheeky hubris, not a good sign in a man who has little to boast about in his political career other than being a "yes" man and a fundraiser making who knows what promises.
