I just physically "lost" the PCS backup phone for two hours, and Verizon saved the day! 😆
In my travels, I ended up doing a quick stop in this little 'pocket park' on the Verizon Corporate property here in WP. Then I got up to move along and left the phone sitting on a bench, wandering off for almost two hours before I even realized it. I knew exactly where I left it, so I walked back and started looking and not finding it when this giant Verizon security guard comes out and starts gesturing to me. I threw up the universally recognized 'pinky & thumb by your ears' symbol for call me and he nodded, so I went over.
He was super cool and took me inside where a pretty rough looking female security guard had it on a counter, and I had to prove to her it was mine before she'd give it up. She asks me to name a number in the contacts on the phone. I'm like "I have no idea. I never use this phone." So now she's looking at me funny and and I'm like shit, I lost the phone, then found it, and now I'm not gonna get it back because I can't prove it's mine! 🙄 So I ask her if I can open up the contacts then when I recognize a name I can tell her what the phone number will be when she clicks it, which is STILL a Longshot because who the faaaaack knows anybody's phone number anymore, but it was all I had to work with. 😏 So we play our little ThePrice is Right game, I see my parents name and I'm like "Nice! I Got this one! I've known that for 50 years!" 😆 I tell salty guard when she clicks the name, the number will be xxx-xxxx, so she does and smiles and hands me my phone, we all three have a good chuckle, and I'm on my way. 😉
So thanks for saving the day, and saving me from spending $$$ I really don't have on a new phone, Verizon security team!
Makes me want to switch providers. This is just the type of testimonial to stimulate changes.
Thanks Pal. 😁
