The Royal concubine would have been the title in an earlier time, not quite of high enough rank to really count but the king is putting the squeeze to her so just accept it. We all knooww what it really means.

I think it's much kinder than what I'd call her, but yes, it doesn't sound good. I betcha when William takes over they don't call Kate that.

Kate will be Queen Consort, but will be called Queen Catherine. Prince Philip was Prince Consort. The title of King Consort doesn't exist.
