I bought a jaccard, which is the one that punctures through the meat. I haven't used it yet though. I already have the ridged mallet type, but it's wood and the ridges are getting worn down and sometimes the head comes off the handle. π
I'm old school and have been through a number of the wooden ridged mallet ones over the years. But after reading some of the fb comments I might have to try the jaccard.
