I'm heading over to White Plains City Hall, where the Memorial Day parade is scheduled to start at 10am eastern time. I suspect it's a pretty small parade which will end at the Rural Cemetery, at which point there will be a ceremony.
I'm going to try and record & snap pics of the parade and put that all together for later.
Then when the ceremony starts, I'm going on Facebook Live and just letting it stream, intent being to just offer an opportunity for anyone to be at a Memorial Day tribute today, if they'd like to and couldn't otherwise. No idea how long it will be, but I might try and record it for Substack as well.
After that I'm going to work my way back to the river for a "Midday", and see where the universe takes me from there.
The Iron Horse bicycle race dominates our little town this weekend. The cyclists race the train to Silverton. I plan to stay home and pull more weeds, and contemplate our history.

For some unbeknownst reason, our city's Memorial Day parade used to line up on our street. We could see half of it from our front yard as they made their way to the Main Street kick off point. They changed it a few years ago, now I'd have to go downtown to catch it.
Our parade isn’t until 4pm today. It used to be in Standale but the Main Street is too busy now. They moved it to Remembrance road which is just around the corner from us. We are going to watch it later. The vintage airplanes have been flying around the area all morning.
