So the church where my parents were married (& grandparents etc) & I received all my Sacraments except marriage was also Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (Camden. NJ now closed) & the parish we belong to now is Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
I was registered to start 1st Grade at the Mt. Carmel/St. Anthony school (obviously a private catholic school) but we moved to Mamaroneck and I went into the public school system there instead.
The implications surrounding how I might've turned out if the Nuns got a hold of me and then handed me over to the Brothers, are stunning. 😏
There's loads of old early 20th century churches in Yonkers. And a lot of the architecture in the downtown area is from then too, and is stunning. I have another pic roll of just random stuff I'm going to post either later or tomorrow with some in it.

Stunning church, reminds me of my childhood one.

What a beautiful church.
I love old churches. What a fun visit to a spot you grew up in and memories.

I miss beautiful churches like that one. Ours is a converted skating rink.
The way I understand it, He's wherever you find Him. ❤
I'm glad you had a good time.
