Three things: I'm in perpetual need of having one or more knives sharpened, but I would not think to carry them with me down to the farmer's market. 🤔
Eating locally produced honey helps alleviate allergies.
I'm glad to see bratwurst is a term East Coasters know. Many years ago a neighbor moved here from Pittsburgh and did not know what we were talking about when we said 'brats'.
Farmer's Markets are a mix of good and bad. I was surprised there wasn't a local winery there giving samples, unless that's a no-no in NY. I usually hit that booth, chat them up and sample EVERYTHING they have. If it's actually good i might get a bottle unless I think it's overpriced.
Around here if you go to a Farmer's Market this early in the season a lot of times they are selling produce they bought earlier that morning in the strip district in Pittsburgh at a ridiculous price. You have to be aware of the local farms that actually sell their own crops.
For a lot of rich suburbanites these are very trendy and they don't have to care about the price.

I would buy the meat, might come from a local rancher and be really good beef without all the hormone crap. Local honey is great for allergies.
The produce looked good. I love going to a nice farmer's market.
I'd definitely shop several of the booths there...lol, if it wasn't too hot.
Sometimes a lot of great buys at the farm stands/craft-type fairs.
Glad you're staying away from the "amphitheater."

Today I picked mulberries, and watered the gardens. That farmers market looked pretty good!
