There's a pro track meet at Icahn Stadium in NYC this Friday night, where as a special featured event they're having a "Beer Mile" relay. π
The "Beer Mile" is a real, highly competitive thing. When the gun goes off everyone drinks a full beer then runs a lap, then stops and drinks another beer and then runs another lap, then does that two more times for four beers and a full mile of running. World record is by a Canadian named Corey Bellemore at 4:28.1, set at the Beer Mile World Classic in Leigh, England in 2021β¦which is faaacking ridiculous. π I imagine the relay involves batons, and handing them off between beer swilling, out of breath runners, which seems like it makes it even more fucked-up and better. π
Only problem is, to get home from the stadium, I'd have to walk straight down 125th St., which is the dead center of Harlem at 11:00 on a Friday night...and I am Caucasian AF. π
So there's ups and there's downs (mostly for me, as usual π).
But the video potential is pretty enticing.
Could be worth it.
What say you, Fam?
I think if you was running though Harlem, stopping only to chug a beer here and there along the way - nobody, even in Harlem, gonna mess with you
π€£π€£π€£ It itβs being streamed anywhere? I would laugh my a$$ off.
