Unfortunately it hasn’t been followed by the politicians in Washington. Congress has given over the budget process to “continuing resolutions”

They have abandoned their oversight to all the alphabet agencies.

You are right. I would add that they have also given up their responsibilities for military actions, instead handing one man (the President) way too much power to take the country to war. The last official declaration of war that was constitutionally followed was WWII. I am a veteran and a patriot, and yes, there are times when military action is necessary. But to give one person the ability to unilaterally decide to start shooting is unconscionable. We pay these mooks a minimum of 174k per year. What exactly are we getting for that?

You know what would make the whole system even better???? If there was a 2-party system, where the members of one party could hold accountable the members of the other... like say if one party's spokesman lied about the "corruption in plain sight" (that didn't exist) for years - they could vote to censure????? Or even better if there was a system where the people who were elected to represent "we the people" actually had to do what they said they would do to get elected? Yeah - that would be the beginnings of a "more perfect union" right there
