Personally, I think this is the smartest move she could possibly make. Flipping to republican would be silly because she doesn't share the ideology and would overwhelmingly vote against republican bills. But she's sort of an "ally" for lack of a better term, because she will cross over from time to time, so the dems treat her horribly because that's what dems do. Her leaving the party and declaring independent clearly sends a message to democrats that there's some big Queen Bee ass to be kissed if they want the things they want from her now. And it plays well to some extent for the right, in that she's a potential 'go to' on those things they only needed Manchin for previously, but now need two non-Reps. Plus, it's funny af when shitty things happen to dems.

God knows there are already too many RINOs trampling our rights and freedom, and words are very very cheap. Lately the term anarchist has become more and more appealing. I don’t want or need a leader because I’m not a follower and never have been.
She has changed from Democrat to Independent, joining King of Maine and Sanders of Vermont. It remains to be seen whether she continues to caucus with the dems like they do.
I agree. There should be a rule that you can only caucus with the party you belong to. I'd like to be a fly on the wall at a meeting with Bernie, her, and King. Plus, that would give the Republicans a 49-48 majority. 😏 Have a great day and weekend.
