The guy selling me cigarettes at the bodega this morning was literally bumming a cigarette from me...from the fresh, unopened pack that I didn't even own yet...as he was ringing it up.
Me (slightly stunned): "You have 400 packs of cigarettes in a rack right behind you, AND a job. No. I'm sorry. Hard no."
Him: <Sad Face>
This is us breathing that Canadianese wildfire smoke. I know it. It's altering our brain chemistry and manifesting itself in historically unacceptable customer service in local shops which were previously beyond reproach. It's the only thing that makes nonsensical Biden America sense.
Before I quit smoking I got sick of paying for cigarettes. I started rolling my own. Got a $40 Tops rolling machine, box of 200 tubes (<$4), and a 16 oz bag of tobacco (~$23). I got 3.5 cartons out of that bag. The machine paid for itself after 2 cartons. I got to where I could roll a carton in about 45 minutes. Saved myself a lot of 💰💰💰. They tasted good too.

I rolled my own for a while. I didn't have a machine, so mine looked like rough joints. I got funny looks now and then. They did taste better tho.
That machine is worth every penny. Looks just like a regular cigarette, filter and all.
