The punching in process where I work is 15 separate steps and includes getting an access code sent to my phone twice. It takes at least 5 minutes, sometimes more. Now do that 4 times a day: in, out for lunch, back in from lunch, out. Minimum 20 minutes per day just to punch the freaking time clock. Progress y'all 🤦‍♀️

I hope they pay you for that 20 minutes of wasted time!

They sure do. Once we get into our time sheet we can fill in any time we want, so actually I log in only 1 time per day and enter all my ins and outs at once.

Because I have a low tolerance for lunacy.

In my last few positions I had to manually fill in a time card instead of punching a clock. I've been retired almost 15 years but still have dreams about being months behind on turning in my time cards.

Been there, done that! 🤣

That’s insane!

Walking is easier than standing because when you're walking, one leg is 'resting' half of the time. For microseconds, but still. It's true.

In my screwslinging past...the GM of a lumberyard/hardware store put a few key non-managers on salary AND we punched the old school time card also. In and out and in and out for lunch.

A former employee blew the whistle to the FED. An auditor spent two weeks going through time cards...the affected employees got a fat check for all the hours worked on salary over 40/week. The GM was pissed and we were all made hourly with a threat that our hours may be cut during slow times in Winter. He was the owner's bro-in-law and a real dick! You see G...we are kindred spirits. 😉

Hang in there! This brave new world is tough!! I’m down to dragging myself home every day now, too.
